Aura: The wolf waiting to pounce
I've suffered with icepick headaches and visual snow, all my life. I didn't start getting classic Migraines until 2007. They've gotten increasingly worse over they past years, until I was getting them once a week. I suffer with many symptoms. I always get an aura, although sometimes it's flashing streaks of lights, sometimes it's loss of vision. I get Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (Where I feel really tall and the room feels really small or vice versa). I can smell things that aren't there. The list goes on and on, and each migraine is a little different. But whatever the symptoms...eventually, the pain hits. Once that happens, the only thing I can do is curl up in a ball and hope the Imitrex works quickly.
Thankfully, through trial and error I've found a medication that has me migraine free for a full 6 weeks. Today is actually my 6 week anniversary!
The idea behind this photo:
When the Aura hits, it's always like a wolf stalking me in the woods. I know it's found me. All I can do is wait for it to pounce.
I know that wolf is still out there lurking in my brain, waiting to pounce. The wolf will always be there, always watching me.
