Things I see

Not

Not "mysterious" anymore!

I've been seeing this thing in various colors and intensities for 25 years. I thought I was developing clairvoyance because I always felt a "presence" when I saw these things. But nothing ever developed and the pattern stayed in a C shape. I have been mystified by this and frustrated by this for a long time. I didn't get much of a headache but sometimes felt nauseous and always drained after. NOW, I know what it is.

VERY Similar NEW
by: Anonymous

I see something very similar. It usually appears in the right eye, spreads out, then slight headache starts.

Altogether it lasts about 30-60 minutes for the visual to disappear. The headache, on the other hand, can last all day.

It interferes in my life so much that I have postponed trips, missed work, while driving sometimes pull over to close my eyes.

Heating pad, very bright sunshine (with eyes covered) helps to minimize.

I started to keep a diary. Most attacks begin around 8-9:00 Am. I do not know what triggers them. My next experiment will be to stop coffee altogether after a few more days of tracking the pattern.

Good luck with your art. It is really pretty cool.

Can't look NEW
by: Cheri

I've been seeing the "spinning crystals" for over 35 years ( not constant of course, on and off ). I've tried just about every prescription migraine medicine out there and nothing works for me. I did find that Excedrin Migraine does help shorten the length of the headache a bit, and does seem to make the crystals go away pretty quick. My head hurts constantly. I am in living hell. Doctors just say it's migraines. Had MRI's etc... I seem to get the worst migraines when the temp changes outside. Pressure changes. Idk, Some days I just want to die. I'm so done w/ being in pain. For some reason Caffeine helps allot! Slam a Mountain Dew, or a Red Bull. Sounds silly, but trust me... I have tried EVERYTHING. Started getting migraines when I was 7. I am now 42.

almost exactly like mine NEW
by: Fiona

Recently my migraine aura is a large C shape flickering with what looks like brighly coloured triangular ice crystals.

Did this hurt to look at for anyone else?
by: Kay

When I first looked at the box I saw what I can only explain as what a piece of silk cloth would look like if it fell to the ground from a clothesline. I looked away quickly because it hurt to try a focus. When I looked at it again I saw tiny triangles to the left and a slight arc to the right. I was just wondering if anyone else saw motion and felt pain when looking at it.

ME TOO!!
by: Anonymous

I see EXACTLY this same shape, only in black and white. Usually there is no headache with it. Sometimes I get a kind of fish-eye-lens effect in my vision too, so that everything inside the C shape is distorted, the way things look in one of those mirrors that monitor shoplifters in retail stores. When that happens, it's impossible to read or drive, but I can often make it go away by eating protein and drinking lots of water.

First Timer
by: EllenE

I had this crazy occurrence for the first time and when the opthlmologist said it was a form of migraine I was surprised because I felt no headache before, during or after. In fact I felt well. Never heard of such a thing and could only explain as an arc of Art Deco shapes in motion. Your shapes are similar, I'm not just a nut!

wow

Wow, it would be beautiful if it didn't come with the confusion and other symptoms. I'm glad you know what it is now.

Colours!
by: James

Quite the colours! I've seen colours too, but only faint ones, as far as I remember.
